Where's flvimpreza? He wanted mine, but yours is available first (and also not in Hawaii). Anyone know how to find him, point him here. Sweet deal. I'm jealous, I want my hoodscoop to work too.

 

I'd be interested.... I would like to do a leakdown test or compression test on the sucker before it was taken out of your car if that would be possible.

I've got the cash burning in my hands.

 

I don't think it will be possible to do the compression / leakdown while its in the car because the motor is getting pulled tomorrow. But it doesn't have to be in the car right to do the test?

My car has still been running great, its just my old clutch that sucked *boo*
Theres still plenty of life left in that EJ25, let me know if you want to work something out.

 

We can't do a compression test with the engine out of the car but it is possible to do a leakdown test with the engine strapped down.

I've bought engines before... sight unseen.... and I've been very pleased, but I've been burned once too. If I could do a leakdown test we could work something out.

I don't mind if you want to do a leakdown test on the motor. Just let me know if you want it left at the shop (Watsonville / Santa Cruz area) or if you want to pick it up from my place (Newark).

Newark is closer to me as I live in the North Bay. I'll do it the day I pick up the engine if that works for you. I imagine that it'll be on a pallett or in a crate. I'll bring a compressor and my tester. If I like what I see you'll get cash.

According to a stock DOHC vs stock SOHC dyno chart I have, the SOHC makes about 18hp / 10tq more than the older EJ25 which came in the 98 RS.
