I've got a 1971 4dr 510 project that I might have to sell soon, Living down here in san fransisco just doesnt allow me the time, money or space to really restore it properly- so i may have to pass the torch to a fellow car enthusiast.
The car itself is an old school SCCA racer with old Nismo parts, gas shocks, massive swaybars, lowered, dual carbs, raced out 1600 with a cam, SSS head, dual oil filters, battery moved to truck, etc. (I'll list everything if people sound interested). The bad part is the car has been neglected for probably 10 years or more, and is dented to isht. The rear quarterpanels need replacing, and the front fenders were %75 bondo, so i scrapped them. There are a few spots with rust but for the most part its rust free, good floorboards, etc. All the other panels and doors could be pretty easily beaten back into shape.
It's not the kind of car you would buy then mob around the same night. It is however, a very sturdy foundation for what could be a pretty badass roadrocket - with racing heritage. I wish i had a garage down here or else this thread would never have been started. I would really like it to have a good home with someone who will restore it rather than knock it into shape and go do donuts in the kmart parking lot.
I'd sell it for $1500 obo?
Lemmie know what you think. Please dont PM me, i never remember to check it.
ROCK!
EDIT: Forgot to say that it does run. I drove to aubrun from san fransisco, and it did great - turned gas into noise with the best of them, gave you every notion that you were just tearing ***, but without the actual face melting acceleration.
Goddamned charming little cars.

I have been looking for a second car...strangely enough a daily driver..haaa. so I don't have to leave my WRX at bart when it comes back with like $6k in crap in it..haaa.
my commute is like 15 miles each way...would drive it like...4 days a week probably.
I don't care if it looks like crap. I can find the parts for it and paint it. Interior can be worked too..don't care.
I just want to know if it's a turn key. How well does it run?
Where you at...I'd like to come see. Might drag a buddy with me....or two. Might try to talk troy from 510 into checking it out for me. If it's good...I've got the cash in hand.

I live in milpitas and have no space...haaaa.
Luckily my girlfriend has a garage and a nice set of air tools...haaaa.
so it will go there when work needs to be done. Body panels are all over. I've already found fenders if I end up with this thing. And my buddy paints....how's flat black with cherry red pins sound to you...until it's mostly finished and ready for a nice coat of color.
