2005 Subaru WRX STi WRC Rally Inspired Show Car - 17K Miles Warranty! - $29000

Craigslist Ad:

http://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/car/514937044.html

Selling my 2005 Subaru Impreza WRX STi (Crystal Gray Metallic) with only 17K miles with remaining 3 year bumper to bumper and 6 year power train warranty. I am buying an Acura NSX, thus the Subi must go. Motor is completely stock, yet had an Injen Cold Air Intake and Greddy RS BOV installed at one point. There are two issues with the car. The first is 4th grinds when either upshifted or downshifted to at high revs. The second is the check engine light is on. I ran a scan and it is referencing the first catalytic converter. I suspect that the CAI and BOV caused the car to run too rich thus affecting the cat.

Other than those two issues, the car is excellent both mechanically and asthetically. The exterior and suspension has been fitted with over $6,000 in mods alone. The KBB for this car in GOOD condition is $25K (not $26k excellent due to issues), minus all of the modifications. To top it off, I will include every single stock part (i.e. hood, trunk with STi spoiler, fenders, STi skirts, rear view mirrors). In other words, you can turn around and sell the aftermarket parts if you prefer.

My STi had been entered in several shows this year including Motoring J Styles where it placed and received an "Outstanding Car Award." There are two very rare parts on this is STi, one is the WRC replica wing manufactured by Kakumei in Japan. This wing is no longer in production and is nearly impossible to find. This wing is does not provide as much down force as the dirt Prodrive wing which has an aggressive louver angle. The louver on this wing is probably 2 - 3 degrees below the stock STi wing and it also sports a third brake light making it more street friendly. The second is the WRC Carbon fiber mirrors sold by Ravspec. I bought these as a test bed from Ravspec with the agreement to post pictures once fitted so that they could market them. I believe they are still not mass produced and available to the public yet.

If it has a warranty why not use it to get your problems fixed?

Tried but the dealerships are being asses. I put it in Oakland Subaru when the only mod on my car was it being lowered. They said just because my car was lowered it implied that I was racing it. They also tried to come up with some BS saying that my intake had obviously been modified, thus directly impacting horsepower and altering factory specs.

So basically, they go ahead and report it to Subaru North America and now every dealership I go to, its in the vehicle history and they won't cover it. I even called Subaru North America *****ing and they said that everything is done at the dealerships discretion. The warranty is still valid, they just wont cover the 4th gear synchro issue, and I'm assuming they are going to blame the history of intake modification on the CEL.

This was in the plans if the car is not sold with in a couple of weeks at my asking price. Just figured I'd give it some time on the market because I really don't want to bother right now. Thanks!

well if this car has already been flagged its going to affect ALOT more of the warranty than just that synco

Your right. But there are also things it won't affect such as electrical, paint, windshield wipers and so on...
