I could try to defend the onslaught of "please don't sell!" but I just don't have it in me. Family first.
My build thread is here for detailed information:

Will I consider trades? Yes. I would consider trades. But I'm particular about the trade. I'd consider trades for an equally clean Impreza GC (coupe or sedan). I'd consider trades for a very clean BAR'd swapped Honda Civic Hatch. Either car would need to be registered and smogged. No exceptions. Of course, in these situations, an undetermined amount of money would need to be added (by you, the buyer). I'd value a super clean GC at somewhere between $5-7k, and a clean BAR'd swapped Civic at around $5-6k, but we can talk. With that said, I'm not really interested in your Mustang, Camaro, old van, your WRX/STi, your mom's Volvo, a lifted bro truck, your motorcycle, your go-cart, your x-Box, or anything else.
Will I part this car out? Absolutely not.
Here's the details/story:
2004 Subaru Forester XT
5 speed transmission
153,xxx miles -- This number may go up as this car is my daily driver.
Title in hand.
Passed Smog Check two weeks ago with flying colors.
Just paid registration.
No rust.
Clean Texas/California car.
This is my baby. But, as life happens, I have to make some changes. Speaking of babies, my second kid is on the way, and owning a car like this just isn't in the cards for me for the foreseeable future. Kids are awesome. Cars come and go. So, before you ask why I'm selling it, the answer is simple. An expensive kitchen remodel and a second kid on the way. 'Nuff said.
History: I bought the car with 120k miles on it from Stevens Creek Subaru. Previous owner informed the dealership that the water pump, pulley, and timing belt had been done, but the dealership couldn't confirm that, so they did again the week before I bought it. They also fixed a broken fog light, a cup holder, and a leaky axle boot at the time (replaced with an entire new axle).
I have replaced/repaired dozens of things, some things even before they needed it. I like preventative maintenance.
Since the very first oil change, I have used factory Subaru OEM blue oil filters and AmsOil 5w-30. Oil has been changed every 3,000, give or take 100 miles. I have a recent report from BlackStone Laboratories that actually recommends I extend that interval to at least 4,000 mile between oil changes, and gave a clean bill of health to the oil sample I sent to them.
Title may or may not be "clean". Let me explain - In March 2013 I was driving through Saratoga, CA late at night and a deer ran into my car (yes, a deer ran into my car) while I was doing about 30mph. It hit the front passenger side door, and rear passenger side quarter panel and ran off. It created a few dents and cracked the paint. No broken glass. No frame damage. A police incident report was filed. All work was professionally done by Paramerica Auto Body in San Jose under insurance, and paint was matched perfectly.
I believe this car was bone stock before I purchased it. It was spotless. Since then it has seen two track days at Thunderhill Raceway (06/2013 and 02/2014) in Willows, CA. It has seen one track day at Buttonwillow Raceway (04/2014) in Buttonwillow, CA. And it has seen a single NASA Auto-X event (11/2013) in Marina, CA. All other mileage is daily driving. No street racing. No hooning. No bad attempts at drifting an AWD car.
The good -- Car is very clean. Runs flawlessly. Starts right up. No rough idle. No CEL. Passed Smog. Drives like it is on rails. No rips/stains/scuffs on the interior. Non-smoker.
The bad -- Front windshield nozzles don't work. Glove box latches and locks, but does fall open when opened. A few VERY small chips in the hood and a few VERY small dents around the car. Small spidering of the paint on the rear bumper and front bumper. One small curb rash on the rear passenger side wheel that has been touched up carefully with matching paint.
The current Yokohama s.Drive tires will need to be replaced soon. I have used but perfect condition 245/40-18 Nitto NT555 tires that will be sold with this car, or I may have them mounted before sale (update: Likely to be mounted and balanced next week -- 07/22 or 07/23). Current tread depth remaining on the new Nitto NT555 tires is 8/32.
I'm exceptionally picky, so when I mention these "bad" things, they're very - very minor - and most people never notice them. I prefer to be honest. Simple as that.
I have receipts on anything I've purchased new. And I'm obsessive when it comes to taking care of my car, so feel free to ask me any questions you want. I know when things were repaired/replaced.
I have essentially every single OEM part I removed from this car with the exception of the OEM radiator, radiator hoses, wheels, and the stock suspension. I still have in my attic the OEM seats, bumper, grill, headlight surrounds, foglights, side skirts, shifter, TMIC, turbo, intake box, exhaust, downpipe, up pipe, brakes, brake lines, rotors, pads, etc.
I also have a lower H-Brace, along with SG9 style front clats that will go with this car.
Additionally, if you'd like, I have a built block that can go with this car for an additional cost. Matching EJ25 BB/BB block halves, 99.5 JE FSR pistons, Manley H-beam rods, ACL bearings, STi crank.

As someone who would kill to have their fozzy look this good, I am deeply saddened by this news.
Hope you find your way into another Subaru in the future.
Best of luck with all your new endeavours!
