You would have to take out a personal loan and it depends on your credit. If you take out a personal loan you can use it on whatever the hell you want. Some banks structure them as credit cards now. So you take out a debt consolidation loan and they issue you a credit card and it's structured like a credit card with whatever balance they give you.

You can also get a used car loan but it's gonna be tough to get a loan for over KBB/edmunds value. That is what the banks go on. So if you do a used auto loan you might only get $5000 and have to cover the rest yourself. That's why I say personal loan.

I'd go to your bank and ask.

It's really tough to with these cars because if you look at the parts/time investment in the car it's definitely worth it. This one in particular seems really well done. Not the average hack together you see floating around. But then again it's just an RS with an STI swap and you can get STI's with less mileage for about this much. So you basically have to WANT THIS car. I always look at them and go damn that's rad. Then I see someone with an RS/WRX and they want $13k for it and I'm like... WTF. I have a WRX/WRX and I'd be lucky to get $6000. But it's what people are paying that makes the value.

So OP good luck with the sale of this car. It's a nice one. But don't get pissed when numbers like $12k start floating around.

I totally understand what you are saying and I agree I have already have offers in the 12k mark. I simply tell them thanks for the offer and leave it as that. I'm in no rush or desperate to sell the car so I do have time to wait for the tight person. Takes the right person and if the right offer comes around I will most likely take it

Aside from the STi factory drivetrain, Brembos, and 5x114.3 hubs, the car is pretty much a blank canvas. It's not often where you see an owner resisting the urge do any more than just the factory swap.

That's the right kind of attitude. If you're patient you'll probably get pretty close to what you're looking for.

If I didn't love my wagon so much I'd have a harder time saying no. LOL!

That's what I really like about this car as well as it was done smog legal. The average person would have no idea what this car was all about till the hood was popped. i recently sold my TR that I swapped a STi drivetrane into, will be buying another subie when I get all situated agan. Just hoping it's sooner than later. Again, nice swap...free bump.
