Car Info: 09 WRX Wagon, and 99 RS
09 wrx
Hi all,
Well it is a tough decision, but I am probably going to part with my 09 WRX. I was doing a swap on my old 99RS as a track car (http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=1916866), but then another near-complete swap that was better prepared and a came along (http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=1932078).
So then I was left with the decision.....do I finish my RS swap and sell my 09 WRX, or do I sell the RS that I have owned for 11 years (nearly 1/3 of my life)? I would like to see how much I would be able to get for the WRX.
Here are the details. I have included costs for things that I have added to the car. You could probably find some of this stuff for less money, but it should be in the ballpark.
- Satin Pearl White 09 WRX purchased in February of 09 (~$26,000 out the door)
- Build date of 12/08, which is clear of the dates that were having engine problems to the best of my knowledge
- ~20k miles. Will have more by the time it is sold.
- foglights ($250)
- sport grill ($200)
- windows tinted ($400)
- clear bra ($400)
Non-Engine Modifications:
- Lowered about an inch on RCE Tarmac 2 coilovers running 7k/7k (that is about 400/400) mounted on GroupN fronts. The front spring is the KW one, the rear is a Swift. I also have a 350 lbf/in Hypercoil that isn't being used. ($2200)
- TR Motorsports MT1 18x8.5 +48 ($950)
- Direzza Sport Z1 Star Spec 235/40-18 ($688)
- Stoptech BBK + ST rear steel lines ($2100)
- TIC Holy shift bushing kit ($98)
- Whiteline 24 mm front sway ($197)
- Whiteline 22 mm rear sway ($197)
- Whiteline Roll center adjustment kit ($191)
- Whiteline Anti-lift kit ($120)
- Whiteline rear camber adjustment bushings ($80)
- Whiteline rear subframe bushings ($46)
- TIC tranny xmember bushings ($35)
- GroupN engine and tranny mounts. ($120)
- Have but not installed: steering rack bushings, forward front control arm bushings, and rear trailing arm bushings. Also have a STP boost gauge that I never got around to installing. (~$180)
Engine
- the goal here was to have faster spool and improved drivability, not necessarily more power!
- Invidia Catted Downpipe ($400)
- Hallman MBC (Boost is set at 15 psi...and only has been changed by EQ while tuning) ($60??)
- A really conservative tune by Ed at EQ. It actually made about 220 WHP bone stock. I just wanted Ed to smooth out the lean zones in the fuel map that Subaru puts in to meet clean air requirements, which are pretty dangerous for your engine btw. The car runs really smooth now and puts out about 240 WHP and peak torque is about 250. ($400)
Accidents/damage
- While on the freeway, something came up and scratched the fender and door pretty bad. Had it fixed. Can't tell it happened.
- Got rear ended. Replaced the rear bumper, gate, and the bumper beam. Nailed the paint, can't tell anything ever happened.
The total when I add it all up is about $34,000...an that is without installation labor! It really adds up. Now I know where all my money went
So then...I would say that the "stock car" is worth about $22,000. Because I am an honest idiot, I have listed that the car has been in an accident, which probably brings it down to about $21,000. I have seen 08's go for about $20,000 and they suck in comparison to 09's. All the other stuff adds up to about $9,000...so 70% of that would be about $6,300. So a fair price would probably be about:
$27,000
If you are interested, then shoot me a pm with a ballpark number that you are looking to offer and state whether you are interested in the car + the aftermarket parts or just the stock car. Thanks!
