When you say custom tune, does that mean dyno tuning?

I have not tried it in a 03 but I would imagine it would work ok.

Yes the custom tuned part does mean dyno tuned

You could be right I have never tried it.

isnt it that the 03 could use the 02 ecu and the 02 cant use the 03 ecu?

02 ecu will work with 03 motors. my conversion has this combo
