hahaha no man that way with getting under the car and removing the whole pivot bushing is ridiculous. I had this thing on my car last night in 10 minutes just to find out I had some weird Sti short shift assembly so the little fork that grabs it was too narrow

You def don't need any snap ring compressors. Even replacing the entire assembly is pretty easy and requires simple tools. Just the shifter itself is an extremely easy install.

yeah, literally a 10 minute job, pop off the console, remove shift ****, take out 1 bolt, pop out shifter, pop in new one, replace bolt, replace console, replace shift ****
