Smells like rubber burning!
Hey there fellow Subie owners. I have an 08 LGT, when climbing over the mountain pass in my area I have noticed a strong rubber burning smell. This only happens when I am getting heavy on the throttle. I have read that some believe it to be a torn cv boot on the passengers side flinging grease on the down pipe. Others have said tired idlers burning on the timing belts. Im currently looking into both. Any other suggestions or experiences? Oh it a 5EAT so its not clutch. Thanks in advance. LGT Guy

I'll tell you this. My 05 LGT smelled like that too on uphills. Found nothing, even after an axle swap still smelled.
