Noob question about bov's

I have a 04 wrx I've always liked wrx's but couldn't afford one till now. I've seen a bunch of subys with bovs and love how they sound on a wrx. So my question is does putting a bov on a wrx hurt the car? I've heard mixed reviews. Sorry for the ubber noob question and thanks in advanced

unstable idle, running rich.
this is just my experience, i took it off after 2 weeks. sounded cool until i got sick of it. only thing i enjoyed was the loud backfire here and there.
i removed it and installed K&N short ram intake, its not as loud as aftermarket bov but its definitly audible. try it for yourself, if you dont like the bov, just sell it and get a intake.

I will second the K&N its pretty loud and gives some perfomance so they say. I have one for sale with under 1k miles on it with the cab sticker. PM me if interested. I will sell it cheaper than a new BOV

You should be fine as long as it's venting properly and not leaking anywhere.

I would keep the stock BPV on your car.

CAI will make the noise louder, SRI will make it even louder. But I would suggest against running a SRI with out a heatshield while using a tmic.

P.s. Don't listen to people with the Hks SSQV until you do some research. It is one of the slowest valves on the market due to the reverse design that claims it can't leak.
