NOOB here! Questions

Hey guys ! new to the scoobies. Came from a sick *** RSX type S and now just bought a brand new 2009 WRX 5 door.
Im learning as I go so good information is usful
was looking into getting a catback exhaust to start off with since I had $$$ left over.
Anyone have any reviews on the 08-09 Tsudo exhaust? Hows the sound, quaility? and power gain?

OR... was looking at a Greddy catback system.
Kinda stuck here not sure which one to go with.

Can't go wrong with greddy. You'll see little power gains from a cbe.best bet get an accessport.this will be the best m$oney you'll spend.

which sounds better is up to you. what one person likes, the other may not. Youtube is your friend, or go to a local suby meet and ask to hear their exhausts.

imo, the greddy evo2's are great quality, and aren't too loud.

Here's why you get the AP first. Factory tuning is fine for the average Joe who putts around in his car. For most of us here we bought these cars for the performance. Meaning, we beat the crap out of them. There is a known problems with factory fuel mapping that cause your engine to run lean for a stretch of the RPM sweep. Adding any sort of modification that changes the characteristics of fuel/air delivery only exacerbates the problem. Yes even a CBE will net a bit quicker spool. That means more boost earlier in the RPM range and more sweep that you are running in a lean condition. Lean conditions result in high cylinder temps and detonation. Both of which cause premature engine failure. As accessport and a protune will eliminate the OEM fuel mapping issue, result in much greater control of engine functions, enable you to correctly mod and get the most out of every bolt-on improvement you make. I'd strongly suggest getting an accessport maybe a CBE and leave it the hell alone. Put good money into suspension/handling mods enjoy driving it. Mod your daily too much and I guarantee you'll spend more time repairing it than driving it.

i would suggest using youtube for exhaust vids, i have a friend with the greddy and its sounds very good, nice tone, and not too loud but loud enough to notice. the tsudo will be lower on the quality scale but if memory serves me right they are about the same as the erz stuff found all over ebay and i know many suby owners were very surprised and pleased at how good the quality is considering the low price. but i agree with getting the AP first then a cbe unless you can swing both. just my 2 cents.

Accessport first, 'nuff said. After that's done, mod away. Just make sure to get tuned for any power mods. Oh, and stay away from intakes, SRI, or CAI, until you are actually throwing a bigger turbo on. There are far better things to improve your car than intakes. Just thought I'd mention that since you said you come from N/A Honda motors.

Helluva drive to go to those Vallejo meets man. The traffic is fierce heading out that way through Sonoma, or via 101 to 37.
