This newb has officially bought-in

Well, for those that didn't notice my thread about looking for a car... we [my girlfriend and I] found a WRX that worked for us.

We live and work in San Jose [downtown] and have been together for over 3 years [yes, the next big purchase of mine will be a ring]. Her name is Alissa, my name is Josh. Technically the car is her's first, then its our car. We are splitting the payments. I own a '98 chrysler sebring coupe that I am constantly working on [not necessarily mechanically, though the most recent project was swapping a trans.] It was a show car a long time ago, and I'm going to get it back to that point soon. I am a member of Avenger/Sebring Enthusiasts Club, or aseclub.net, and have been for... 5 years now? Anyway...

On to the most important part, the Subie-
we purchased a 2008 WRX 5-door Hatch in Charcoal Grey Metallic. It has the auto-dimming mirror w/ compass and homelink, extending armrest, and cargo tray, and those are the only options so far. Very soon we are planning on adding the sport mesh grill, because like many of you feel, that stock grill has got to go. So that's the first mod, and next will be tint for sure. Alissa really wants to tint it asap, and de-badge it too. She also expressed interest in smoking/blacking out the tails. I'm not so sure if we want to do that right off the bat, but we will see. Then after that all happens, I get to try and talk her into exahust.

I've been reading that with this engine [the 2.5l flat 4, same as the 06/07's] you can get some pretty descent numbers with nothing more than a turbo-back and tune. Does anyone know if any company's are already working on bringing out an exhaust system for the 08 hatch yet? Where would I find something like that out?

we've had the car for 5 days and we are already discussing all the things we want to do... but it is BRAND new so in reality it will probably not happen for a while.

The best part is, when we took it out for a test drive, it had 6, yes SIX miles on it. We are most likely the first people who ever test drove it, because it had 16 when we brought it back. It's pretty amazing to be the ONLY people to ever drive the car aside from the dealership/delivery guys. It's also pretty amazing to have a car that no one has seen on the road yet.

Unfortunately we don't have any pic's right now, we got it dirty the 2nd day we had it anyway. We'll probably take some pics soon.

So, hello everyone. Looking forward to joining the community, and tell me about the meets goin' on in the south bay!

Congrats.. I just bought the 2008 WRX 4-door last month. Cobb has the downpipe and a uppipe out already. The website to watch is www.perrinperformance.com I've talk to them a few times and it sounds like they will have a majority of the preformance parts out with in the next couple of months.
