Talking Newb but been member.Need advice

So I am only 18 and my parents decided to only buy me an 08 Impreza hatchback no Sti which made me kinda sad..but its okay there money I guess..

My question is that I have been wanting to fix up my car..but not to a certain extent where it looks like a "WANNABE" Sti..I wouldn't wanna hella embarass the Suby community..

So I was thinking about at least..
-New Hood
-Yellow Fog Lights
-Mud Flaps
-lowered car maybe

That's all, I don't know any suggestions?

First of all, welcome to the forums! You are lucky your parents bought you a car. As for modding your car, how much are you planning on spending? A nice drop and a set of wheels can really change the look of your car if you have the money.

Welcome!! I also have a 2.5i. Those are some good parts but the hood you might get made fun of because there"s no need for a scoop. It looks nice but other people with wrx's and sti's won't.

i Second that. spend the "hood" money elsewhere like on an exhaust or something that will net you some HP gains or use it to better the suspension components you choose or rims/tires. Before you go spending money if you have not already do some research on what mods to do first.

Welcome to the club. Wish my parents bought me a car when I was 18! About modding the car I would ask myself what I don't like about the car and what I do like about it. Start changing stuff depending on those answers. The first thing I did to my car was a brake upgrade, sure it was just stock diameter aftermarket rotors, some better pads and braided lines but that made a world of difference for me. Next I was unhappy with the tendency for my car to under-steer so I put in a larger diameter rear anti-swaybar. Than I wanted extenuate that Subaru rumble so on went a big exhaust. Now after seeing how good wagons look lowered I am saving to get some coilovers.

Exhaust I don't think make much if any gain. After driving my car for a bit over a year I would recommend a brake upgrade. Three times I've maxed(?) out the brakes to a point where I heard like a crunch. engine mods aren't really worth it. If JourdanwithaU chimes in, he can help you out more. There's a 2.5i thread in nasioc under the Impreza forum.

Imo id lower and get some wheels to make it look a little cleaner. Maybe exhaust/intake?

Suspenion mods are always fun, I went to a track day last year and rode in a rs that had aftermarket wheels, tires, struts, springs, & sway bars. It was stil alot of fun to ride in because of how well it cornered.
