Noob question... what's the purpose of the Chimney Duct? Looks like it sits over the turbo but where does it vent to?

I'm assuming to either cool the turbo/or down pipe? maybe to keep the down pipe heat out?

either or, it seems like a good idea! good job regardless!

(02-07) WRX & STI - Chimney Duct w/ Heatshield

What is it?

Subtle Solutions - Chimney Duct w/ Turbo Heat Shield was designed to fit the Subaru Impreza (2002 - 2007) WRX & STI. While utilizing the stock intercooler mounting bracket and hole(s), this 304 Stainless Steel product helps eliminate heat soak on your intercooler by providing an outlet aka "chimney" for hot air to escape through your factory or aftermarket hoodscoop splitter vents. While driving, this product allows cooler air to travel through the chimney and push warmer air out of the engine bay and down towards the ground. We are very proud to say that all of our products are MADE IN USA!

by chance having a "new vendor sale"i saw the Ashtray Gauge Bezel and i REALLY like that.would you be able to color match the stock dash color?and when you say its shipped blank does that mean i have to cut the holes?i would want it with 1-52mm holes(aem wideband) and then maybe a custom small hole were i could mount a cig lighter for charging the cell phone.think that would work

All the details on this product are listed on our website: www.subtle-solutions.com

The Gauge Bezel is sold in three different options (vary in price):

1. Blank Panel ($74.99)

2. (2) 52mm holes ($79.99)

3. (2) 60mm holes ($79.99)

Finish

All Ashtray Gauge Bezels are Brushed Aluminum and are not painted. This gives the customer the option to paint, plasti-dip, or anodize the panel on their own.

* We are a vendor on a few other Subaru forums and just ended a Pre-Order / Group Buy on these. To be fair to the other customers, we cannot offer these for less than what they paid. Thanks for your understanding.

It's a secret! : )

Ha. No, we have a lot of things on our "to do" list right now. We also are developing products for the Mitsubishi community too.

I think we have a fair share of products to offer the Subaru community right now. However, we are always open for suggestions!

Question about the turbo chimney. Will this fit a aftermarket TMIC (APS)and aftermarket turbo (stock location 30r)? I still have my IC mounting holes in the same place.

If an SPT heatshield will fit, the chimney should fit. However, some guys who have purchsed this product had to modify the area where the intercooler tab bracket pokes through and mounts to the heatshield.

Can you post up some pictures showing your setup? Thanks.
