New from Sacramento area - Mucho pix
New from Sacramento area - Mucho pix
Hello,
Been lurking for a short time, finally decided to sign up. I wanted to wait till I was able to get some pix of my car, but this rain hasn't given me a chance and I want to meet some cool Subaru peeps and introduce myself.
Name is Andrew, from the exciting town of Woodland, just outside of Sacramento. Finally got my Impreza, my first dream car. It was the first car I ever "wanted more than anything" and finally, I own one. Thank you lord!
When I was finally ready to buy my first car, I realized my dreams of owning a 22b were out of the question and the only thing I could afford was this stupid 240sx. lol This was before drifting hit the US hard so it was super cheap. I don't have any pix of that car, but I ended up selling it, getting an 01 IS300, then another 91 240sx, then an 06 Frontier, then an 06 FX35, then a 99 Q45, then an 09 Camry (worst idea EVER), and finally this Subaru.
Definitely the funnest times were with my second 240, i'll just let the pix explain:

Miss that car! I didn't happen to grow up, growing up happened to me. Bought a house, got married, blah blah, not enough money for track drifting any more and weddings are expensive.
So after "growing up" a bit, I ended up getting rid of my toys for a stupid effing Camry to help keep costs of my commute down. I died a little everyday I drove that car. Finally had enough and got the car of my dreams!
With only 9 miles on her, here is my 2012 Pearl White WRX Hatch "Premium":

and because I have no other pix:

I was bored waiting for paper work to get finished up, messed with an iPhone editor lol. I still can't believe that is my car. I can't wait to jump back in and drive.
Sorry for the long post, just really excited to be here. I chose I-Club because it seems like there were more people from my area than other Subaru forums. I'm hoping to meet up, hang out, and learn a lot from you guys. Subaru's are REALLY new to me so I plan on reading up a lot. Not new to messing with cars and turbos, but still green. Hopefully reading will help me avoid noob *** questions.
Haha thats it for now I guess. if anyone is interested, I have a few cool drifting videos I made you can see on my vimeo account (until I get my website back up) at Andrew of Cold Twelve Media on Vimeo
See you guys around, any questions about me or car, i'd gladly answer them.
Thanks,
Andrew

Well I am glad someone recognized the old 240, hope you can meet the new car soon.
A friend told me they are slowly becoming available, but I've been so far away from the 240 scene, I don't know if its true or not. Either way, good luck in getting one. They're cheap and easy to work on.
I can already feel the love
Whats your name? Maybe I will remember, but I am horrible with names/faces lol. I haven't seen MANdo in forever, how's he doing? I think the last time I seen him... we were trading spacers for some reason lol.

well as you know, weddings aren't cheap, so i myself have to wait to get one, i have to convince my fiance to get a Subaru first
lol just excited to be here and on a car forum again. Its been a while.
Intrigued, I'll see what I can do. Its at an odd time for me. I'd end up staying in Sac all day/night. Maybe. Hopefully.
I kind of remember, but I never met you. I remember the car... Did my friend Justin take pix of it with a fat lens? A lens he had for like a week, sold it and bought my wife's S14, then turned around and sold that lol.
Just go cheap on the wedding and big on the car. Wedding is one night, a car could potentially last forever lol.
One noob question to end the night for me...
I'm Still in the "break in" period, any tips for this process? So far i've just been taking it easy, trying to keep the RPMs low, is this best? I remember reading up on breaking in engines a while ago when I got my SR20 running about doing cycles of light driving and hard driving to let the engine break in correctly. Not trying to take any risks with this car, it's my DD and has to last a long time. Dealer said to wait 500 miles, I'm doing 1000 though.
Thanks for the warm welcome everyone. I really appreciate it and I hope to contribute to the forum with pix and videos that are worth your time. Talk to you later.
