My name is Matthew and I'll be 19 on december 11th. I own a 1997 subaru impreza outback sport. I bought it 3 years ago from an old lady smashed for $400.00. It's manual trans and all wheel drive make it nice in pennsylvania with the winters. I haven't quite finished it yet though because my father the mechanic is always too busy but he promised me he'd help me finish it before spring 2010. It needed an entire front end so I bought mostly stock because aftermarket get's expensive. I have all the hood, fenders and an aftermarket duraflex front bumper. I also bought a used set of side skirts for my 4 door. Now I just need a rear bumper. I am also putting straight dual exhausts on the car and I bought (2) 4" canons for each side so it should sound nice. I also am buying a cold air intake and maybe a turbo kit if it's in my buget. I have konig rims for it 17" but need tires yet. What's a good size for 17's? Car is being painted whole in ralley blue with gold rims. Anyway, here's my question...

What do I have to change on my 2.2L engine to make a turbo kit work??? Like the stock parts??? Like pistons, cams, exhaust, clutch, and such??? I know what comes in the kit but what else restricts me from just bolting it in and using it??? Help is appreciated. Thanks

The best of luck with the restoration of your Subaru.
If you have your heart set on a turbo kit in the near future.
I would consider upgrading the pistons and rods.
Also inspect your crankshaft,bearings etc.
