New from norcal(Vacaville)
hey there everyone, name is Jackie and just got a 2005 sti w/ approx 31k miles on it. its Black
Wanted to say hi to the community, im here to meet people and learn about the car, planning on keeping it a aggressive, reliable dd with good power.
I just traded my Ls1 powered 93 rx7 for it, gotta family so no more 2seater
but its alright, so far im happy with the car.
Couple problems with the car so far, leaking front differtial seals, right front axle busted, cars been abused and no warranty. But it will become like new.
I work for a German automotive shop in fairfield, so i have the space and stuff to do all the work so that helps alot.
Only after market part it has is a Helix Downpipe! has a check engine light tho because of no cat. Waiting to get a AP.
well just wanted to say hello and meet everyone!

Out of curiosity do you ever come to Sonoma County, more specifically Rohnert Park, to eat Japanese food? I met someone 2 or 3 months ago who had an LS-powered FD that he had built himself, and he was grabbing some food at my buddy Joe's restaurant.
Anyway, that's rough to hear about the condition of your new baby, especially with only ~31k on the clock. On the other hand, it is nice to hear that she will have a good home now, and will be fixed up as good as new. I would be surprised if it did not already have a modified map on the ECU, or at least had one at one point when you consider the condition of the vehicle. I would look into taking her back to stock since you can do it yourself, and the part involved isn't more than a quick weekend lazy-day fix. Maybe call around to the Subie shops, or ask on the forums if someone has a stock DP laying around that you can have/buy.

Welcome to the world of Subaru ownership. Prepare to always own at least one Subaru for the rest of your life (or otherwise lust after owning another every single day, should you find yourself without one.)
