A new guy from the Bay Area
Hey all, new here as well. Last January, I purchased my first car of my own/Subaru. It was an obvious choice for me to go with. I got a 2010 Subaru WRX Blue Wagon. Not planning on doing much modding to it for the first year or 2 of its life, other than probably picking up a set of cheaper rims and snow tires, since I love the snow (hence, all wheel drive).
I actually used to hate Subarus, since my parents owned an 82 GL wagon, and that thing was a POS, so it gave me a bad impression of it for years. I got smarter though, so that is a relief.
I decided to come here so that I can learn more about my car, read funny stuff and hopefully meet some other drivers out there.

Welcome to the family! If you're not busy this Sunday then come out to Novato to BAM X (bay area meet 10) where you can meet everyone and check out the cars and learn about subarus. It will be fun, hope you can make it.

Yeah, saw that, but I am afraid that I work on Sundays. That would be fun to go to especially since my sister lives in that area as well, and stop by Santa Rosa and the Russian River to fill up my growlers there.

Yeah, I do plan on doing some of this. I am thinking of participating in the Duel at Deanza (only autocross that I really know of right now) next May and going for for one of the Nevada Open Road series next summer as well as long as I can afford all the safety equipment I need, would like to get before I do 90 miles at about 110 mph. If not this coming summer, the year after that for sure.
and do they still have the '82 GL?
