Hello everyone. I just thought I would check this forum out because I leave for the army next week and after basic Im planning on getting what I have wanted for a long time. A wrx. I want an 05 sti but Iwanted to ask you guys the best thing to get. Should I just get the wrx or should I spend the extra cash and get the sti. Sorry for the noob questions. Im a honda guy making the slow transition into the subaru world. Any input would be great.

 

If your just getting in the Army, I suggest you getting WRX. . .make some Rank, then by your STI. . .wait, don't you get like a 40K bonus? If thats the case buy the STI! Good Luck to you. . . thank you for serving with the rest of us!

I got an 05 STI and love it! To me its personal choice. You could get something good and make it better...or you can get something great and make it bad ***!

 

Thanks for the input. I wish I was getting a bonus like that. They told me that until the fiscal year is up they have no bonuses to give away. Im getting me a wrx for sure. I guess I will just have to see what I can find. I leave tomorow for fort jackson so Ill be back on around November. Take it easy everyone.

personally i always jocked the impreza, especially when the bugeye came here, but then the sti came here and i had always drooled over it but never had the chance to get one until it was 4 years old (the 05 of course) i say don't settle and go for what you really want even if it means waiting...it'll be even more worth it!!!! sti FTMFW!!!!

Good luck with your career in the Army.
You can't go wrong with either vehicles.
The Subaru WRX or STI both have great dependability
and will be reliable as long as you keep up on general
maintenance.

 

Welcome.. well if you are torn between a wrx and sti.. you could always go with the later model wrx and still get the 2.5 engine.
