This seems a good a place as any to introduce myself.
My name's Kyle, and I've wanted a WRX since I was 12. Made that dream come true recently.
In the down time between then and now, I rode my bike a lot, worked at an ice cream shop for a long time, got a journalism degree at San Jose State, and now put those sharp reporting skills to good use at a local bank.
I dabble with electronic music, and in particular building my own gear. As well as many of you know cars and their innards, I know the guts of electronic music instruments. In time I hope to match that pace with auto know how, though as is I've some experience, as my brother does the 24 Hours of LeMons race. Getting crap cans to run is an achievement in itself.
Cheers and high hopes to meeting some cool people around here.

Aw crap. On the way home from work I started to smell some burning oil. The dipstick showed a bit low, added a quart. Then I caught whiff of a burning plastic smell, and possibly an untoward rubbing sound from the engine. I had been planning prior to get the shifter looked at Thursday (occasionally difficult to move the shifter into first, gears sometimes grind briefly as shifter is moved into a new gear, even before clutch is released). Now I'm gonna get a more thorough check now.
Expect me to show up Wednesday still, but probably without my car
