My new Forester 2.5XT

Well, I've plastered my car everywhere from Reddit to NASIOC. But I'm posting again because it's been about 7 years since I've had a car that was so much fun to drive, and I'm already in love with this thing.

Here she is, bone stock. Needs a few hoses replaced and a CV boot. Otherwise, this car simply doesn't show the 120k miles it has.

runboyrun14 on Reddit and my buddy Skylar (don't know his username - he's got a white STI and his wife has a red WRX wagon) who checked over my car today told me to show up here. So here I am.

And here she is:

I've had my fxt for about two months now (at 40k) and I know exactly what you're feeling haha. 120k though, are there records of the timing belt being changed might want to look into that and the head gasket just to be sure. Other than that...wag on brotha!

Dealership just changed the t-belt about 150 miles ago.

Head gasket? Didn't see paperwork on that. No CEL, no leaks present, temperature reads just right, no odd behavior from that motor at all.

Good job man, that is a clean one.

I believe I test drove that one, ended up with my white FXT from somewhere else. The sales mgr at that dealer jerked me around when I asked about the timing belt, but a week later got a call from my actual sales rep who I had been talking with saying they had done the belt, so it is great that it got done and got picked up by someone who appreciates the car!
(Enjoy the window tint lol)

Yep. Glad to hear the sales manager wasn't jerking me around about other people basically getting into finance and then walking away due to the belt. He told me it was done, per the previous owner, but they couldn't prove it (prior owner couldn't produce the repair paperwork). Anyway, they did it. They also noted a cracked intercooler intake hose (which they poorly repaired), and upon further inspection, they also did not note a torn CV boot on the front passenger side, as well as another weathered intercooler hose. I'm a little miffed about those items, so I'm going to be giving them a call and seeing if I can't get these parts for the price of "on the house".

Anyway, it's a great car. The window tint isn't horrible, but it's also not the best. I can deal with it right now. I'm more concerned with getting some exhaust and coil overs at this stage. But top priority is replacing those TMIC hoses and that CV boot.

Since it's going to be a DD (yes?) I would highly advise not getting coilovers.

What about some softer coilovers like street series megans? I'm curious myself because I want coilovers to do some fun driving but my car is a DD as well.
