HP question

SO from what I belive the newer model STi's have 300WHP. Then how come I always ee a dyno sheet of a lightly modified STi it says the peak HP was just under 300 (275-300). I was wondering why this is. I know most/some Dyno's arent exact but I dont see how this is measuring any gain in power. Thanks in advance for answering a noob question.

when an auto manufacture states HP for a car, the claims are being made from the flywheel.

When you see a dyno sheet from a car thats been posted up, thats HP at the wheels, and what is actually usable.

as an example, my bone stock 2005 STi was rated at 300/300, but it put down 209/220 on a Mustang AWD dyno.
