hello. im new.

so i have a 2010 WRB/gold hatch. love the car, well when i have it anyways. i bought the car about a month ago and it has been in the shop 4 times. they put a new turbo on it and it is in the process of getting a new block all replaced under warranty... the dreaded ringland failure... anyways im really hoping this is not an everyday occurance with these cars. car only has 32k. im thinking the previous owner was a bit of a retard and luckily SOA hasnt voided the warranty because of that.

Welcome. Where are you at?

The ringland thing is unfortunately kinda common but only retards suffer from this issue so you should be fine. J/K. LOL

Welcome! I had the same exact issues as you with my 2008 with only 18k miles. Once those issues are resolved, you'll be happy and hopefully problem free

sorry. it a 2010 WRB STI hatch with the gold bbs wheels. love the look of the car. and its a blast to drive. my other car is a 93 240sx convertable that i swapped an r33 rb25det into. they are 2 totally differnet cars. but both are a thrill to drive. i origanally bought the sti so i would have a fun reliable daily driver that has unfortunatly turned into a biggerproject thus far than my 240... oh i did the swap myself with some expertise from similar forums about 3 years ago so hopefully i can be a valuable member on here and help some people out but i am not by any means an expert on all that is the boxer yet. lol.

if a mod reads this can you help with the registration. the human verification thing isnt showing up...

so i just talked to subaru and they have informed me that this car is already on its 2nd or 3rd motor and is in need of a new one again... WTF. they have also informed me that they will probably be disinclined ton replace the engine again... so basically i have purchased a used car that is apparently very prone to engine failure... i mean it is probaly engine failure due to the previous owner being a ****ing idiot but none the less the car has probably worn out its welcome so to speak. and now i may be suffering for it. i have contacted the dealership that sold me the car and expalined the issue. they are having a meeting on it now. also none of this showed up in the carfax... i would think that having the motor swapped out 3 times would be in there... some heads better roll on this...

Welcome to i-club. Sorry to hear about your new(to you) car needs so much work. When the new motor gets put in make sure to get a tune to keep the engine safe!

Welcome! I'm curious, would a warranty engine swap show up on carfax? I was under the impression carfax only dealt with incidents with insurance companies such as theft or collision.
