i'd say....

wheels/tires/drop on some suspension and a clean paint job if you dont currently have that will get you noticed. i mean a girl in a clean subaru, u dont have to do much to the car to get respect. just keep it clean and tasteful and it'll be good. also the power of the car stock, is good enough for track days when your a beginner at driving seriously aggressive on the track. that's the last thing you'll want to do.

I was just in Kona today for work, then drove to Hilo, then flew back home.
I see soo many GC/GF's in Kona, not so much in hilo. With work, I'm usually on the BEEG Isle 2-3 times a month. Do some research, also check out this site: rs25.com

im not an auto-x fan really... sorry guys.
but in all honesty, i'd rather go for performance and cosmetics.
i'd like to be noticed, remembered and one of a kind.
and still use my track ready car as my daily driver.
finished product: dropped on -not sure what suspension, but- work meister s1's; wrx or sti swap, cf hood & trunk, slight tint, exhaust, and a HOTT PINK PAINT JOB!!! yay-yah.
You can certainly do some performance stuff. Just know that on an NA platform, it is really difficult to pull more power out of it. As for the WRX or STi swap, if you don't plan on doing the swap yourself, it isn't price effective. Just know that it isn't a plug and play deal. You'll have to rewire the whole car. Putting the engine and transmission in isn't a big deal. It is the wiring and splicing that makes or breaks people.

As for suspension/handling aspect, there are certainly stuff out there. Just not as much as the GD chassis. You'll find that some stuff made for the WRX sedan and especially WRX wagon will fit onto the GC body.

Really? I was in Kona for a few days and I only saw one Subaru the whole time. I must have been looking in the wrong place.

Welcome. I've never been to Hawaii, but I'm thinking of taking a vacation there in the semi-near future. Any recommendations on where I should go for a week or so?

Oh, and post some good car pics if you can.
