Hello everybody!

Hey guys, finally saved up some money and bought a WRX full time college student at UC Santa Cruz, and a full time slave laborer at a welding shop here in town.

It would be sick if there were any members In the Monterey bay area, I see alot of subies, but not too many wrx's, so I know your out there, lol!

I do have a quick newbie question, sorry if my pronounciations or terminology is off... I have been running somewhat rich on fuel, and I'm wondering if anybody has advice to what it could be? Here are some of the mods I have that could relate to this issue...

Greddy turbo back
Sti injectors
Sti tmic
Turbo xs bov (vta)

All these mods were on the car when I bought it, the car came with a greddy recirc bov, but it had a leak coming from the adjustment screw, so the original owner gave me the turbo xs for free

My speculation is that the sti injectors are injecting too much fuel, and the stock intake isn't compensating for lack of air? Any suggestion helps! I'm planning on getting a tune Monday or Tuesday, but I just want to get an idea of what to expect if I need serious mechanical work or a simple CRC cleaning job.

Thanks guys!
Jared

Welcome JASC!

I am not located in the Monterey Area, but I do go there time to time in a very lightly modded Impreza Outback Sport.

I cant say about the car running rich, but Subarus are known to run a bit rich, so maybe the STI injectors are making you run a bit more richer than stock. This may be due to the STI consuming more fuel compared to the WRX for more AWHP.

Great roads in SC for a subaru id have to say =)

I went to winchester the other day and picked up some MAF and air filter cleaner/oil. What a difference! Idling perfect and running optimal on fuel!

Welcome to the club. We try not to name roads we like to drive on as it can bring too much attention to them.

Welcome aboard and congrats o the car.

I am pretty sure its the BOV making it run rich off the shifts. If it is not tuned for the injectors then that is what is doing it.

Took her in to get a tune today and the pinks are making me run rich, but it's not bad enough to rush getting new injectors.

Sigma Pi your the man! Will post pics when I figure out how to do that lol!

I agree with the BOV making you run rich. I had a Greddy type rs BOV and i was running rich. I have the stock recirc in it now and runs great!
