From GS-R to STi :)
From GS-R to STi :)
Hey everyone, my name is Shanna and I'm new to the forum. I'm a student at James Madison University and I live here in VA. I've been lurking on NASIOC for some time now in hopes of one day getting an STi and it finally happened
About a month ago I picked up my java '04
All I can say is wow, I'm in love. I've always been extremely into Hondas.. started out with a 92 accord, 99 auto LS integra, and then finally learned manual and picked up an 00 GSR that I loved for 3 years.
Absolutely loved autocross... can't wait to start in on the STi
A few of the teg:

The New

It's safe to say this car will be with my for awhile
Previous owner(s) didn't take car of it at all. When I bought it I didn't get one maintenance record..it was a risk but I got a great deal and I couldn't pass it up. Already spent about $1200 in maintenance/registration/titling etc. And still have many more plans.
I had to point out to the previous owner that the car was lowered. So far I have found mods to include:
Turboback exhaust (can't remember the name off hand, the previous owner thought it was ractive but it's only a ractive axleback)
Ractive axleback
Hella Horns
Tein S-techs on stock struts <--awesome choice..not. thanks for the rear strut clunk.
JVC headunit and new speakers
annnnd so far I believe that to be it. I recently bought some DBA slotted rotors and stoptechs for the front and so far I love them. And the previous owner broke the power steering bracket clean off so I had to order a new one from Subaru, along with the bolt that was also broken in half. Now I can finally change my ac, ps and alt belts.
Future plans are to include a new axleback, and most likely piping since it's the ****tiest welding job I've ever seen. It somehow sounds amazing though. The Ractive muffler is too flashy for me. I'm also going to be in the market for coilovers or at least an upgraded strut for the s-techs. Although they are a crappy spring, I love the look of the drop and the ride isn't actually too bad, even with the strut clunk. I need something that will hold up to a few autocrosses and this current suspension will definitely not cut it.

Welcome! Good choice on your brake setup! I love my DBA's with the stoptechs! I recommend SS lines and SuperBlue brake fluid, major difference in brake feel. Good luck
yeah i love my brakes so far. and the turboback is causing a p0420 code because there is no cat. i had it on my integra too and i made an O2 non-fouler and it kept the sensor from direct air flow. worked perfect and it never came back so im gonna do the same on the sti. should i still get a tune for the turboback though?

YES!!! not getting a tune on a turbo back is bad for the car and really does nothing for the car! getting a tune will give you about 35whp!! and keep the af and engine safe!
