Car Info: 2014 Subaru Impreza 2.0i Premium
First Subaru
I'll be getting my first ever Subaru this week. 2014 Impreza 2.0i Premium hatchback with a sunroof. I got it for the all-wheel drive after this miserable winter!
I've been a long term Ford owner, then Honda owner. I'm an empty nester with kids living 1 and 4 hours away. I love road trips to visit them. I'm a high school teacher so in the summer, I'm travelling!
After owning a 03 Honda Civic hybrid with the CVT transmission and having nothing but trouble with it, I almost walked out of the Subaru dealership when he said that. Reassurance would be nice... Anyone?
I'm looking forward to learning more about the Subaru life here. Thanks!

I did a lot of research when my wife and I were purchasing a 2014 Forester for her and didn't find much of any negative feedback on the Subaru CVT. I drive a turbo subie w/ a manual so it's an entirely different experience from my wife's Forester but so far we're 6k into driving w/ it and its worked well. I don't find the notorious CVT 'hum' to be an issue and it wasn't hard to get used to how the CVT accelerates vs. a conventional automatic.
