yea it is pretty sad, why the owner would put random stickers all over it I don't know.
I think that this is quite a rare case. . .

Anyone douchey enough to slather a 999 with all those stupid stickers was probably not too hot on maintenance.. There are no fuel lines way back under the seat. The pump sits forwards a few inches from the back of the tank.. Fuel lines are certainly nowhere near the exhaust.. - Run straight from pump to airbox between cylinders.. The closest the pipes get to the tank is something like 7 or 8 inches.. The fuel pump / lines are still another 2 or 3 inches forward of that.. Either he had a leaky line and fuel was SPRAYING back there as he was riding (Which - any moto would **** fuel all over its own exhaust w/ a leak at the tank)- or he didn't reconnect the drain hose on the overflow from the filler cap and overfilled the **** outta it and that fuel sprayed back there...

The only duc I am aware of with a fuel - exhaust possible issue is the Desmo - and that was handled on a TSB.

In other words.. TOTAL user error. - Poor Duc deserved better.

*Edit - looking at that rear tire - dude couldn't ride either... So what he lacked in skill he was probably attempt to compensate for in "hadrcore" stickers. Squid. - Actually.. That bikes looks familiar as hell for some reason.

pretty bad huh? huge chicken strips!! I was pretty sure my boss said that it was a burst in a fuel line or a gas leak that found its way to the hot exhaust. . . .
