Question Boost problem

Hi, I've noticed that my car (MY99 STI) is producing a boost level of 10psi only and the acceleration is very poor. Recently one of my friend's said that there's a part missing near the turbo, a sort of a valve or something. Which is located at the T joint of vacuum lines (seems like a vacuum line) near the turbo. As this person said, without this valve that wastegate can produce boost up to only 0.5 bars.

Extremely sorry if there is not enough info i have provided as I'm a noob in this field. I've taken some pics with the T joint marked.

Is it possible for such a prob to exist and if then please give me some ideas about where to get this part and what is it called.

Not sure on the MY99, but MY03 doesn't have anything around the T joint. It sounds like you could be in "limp mode" and there is a vacuum line pinched around where your boost solenoid is.......after I installed my Grimmspeed 3port boost control, i had a hose that was bent, pinching the airflow, and it caused the boost levels to go away, and the car wasn't the same........once the hose was fixed, car went back to normal.........That's my $.02

Thanks wrecker83 for the info. I checked all lines and seems to be fine. Is my boost solenoid causing this?

Its always worth a try........make sure to disconnect, and then step on the brake for like 20secs to drain remaining juice in car, then reconnect and run it for like 5 mins before taking a spin......

I'll try that. Thanks. And btw, I just found that the brass restrictor in the vacuum line that goes from the T joint to the turbo's housing seems to be missing.
