Bittersweet. . . . .

Got this hunk of crap in SB, came up here started having problems, took it to LIC- it was in such bad shape they did not have time to mess around with it (can of worms) took it to EQ found a bunch of problems and sold it back

****ty... Hopefully the previous owner didn't abuse the car. But a bugeye with an upgraded turbo (assuming it is better than a td04) and a intake doesn't sound too bad of a deal. 75k is also pretty low mileage for a 2002, all the people I know who have '02s have already broken 100k. Only critique I have would be to get those '08 wheels off of there ASAP. IMO those wheels look terrible.

Damn, that was a lot to read...

Looks like a really nice Subaru! I didnt read the hole thing but getting a new ej205 shouldn't be too expensive. I'd be worth getting an ej257 and sti drivetrain for an 02 with only 75k on it.

Thanks for the support guys, I totally agree, the 08' wheels look pretty damn lame on it.

After such a long time staring at subaru's you should have noticed the sedan fenders and 08+ wheels right away. I don't know what you paid for it but I think you may have gotten a good deal. Nothing sexier than sedan fenders on wagons, time will tell if the other mods are equally convenient.

Good luck!

I know I should have noticed, I knew the wheels were newer but I don't really know the difference between the fenders. This whole experience sucks so far, cant wait to find out what has really been done to this thing.

Really I cannot be anything but positive about this crap, I can say this, the car drives pretty nice and I have put 1600 miles on it since last sunday when I bought it. The guy who sold it to me said he is gonna make it right. word.

Sorry to hear you had been taken for a ride, I have an 03 and I'm over 100k so I'd say you got a good deal. My turbo is now starting to go and is on it's last limb, I'm currently looking to upgrade my turbo. Even with an upgraded turbo the stock intake should have been all good. Like everyone else says about the 08+ rims, they gotta go man. It look super clean too! BUGEYE FTW!

sucks about the smog, but that is tight the guy is going to help you out! i have a 02 wrx with 74k, you will love your car. would say this was a killer deal if that guy would have gotten it smogged.
and for the 08 wheels you should just paint them black, thatd look hard and like a completly different set of wheels.

Wow thats way harsh man.

Do you have anything in writing from the previous owner? Craigslist add or something like that? Does he belong to any online forums where he has a member journal?

Deff not right for him to tell you everything was stock and sound. I would try to find out as much as you can about him and the car and if you have ANYTHING in writing.. Maybe take it to court..

Maybe try taking screen shots of the listing with the date and show the emails that you responded to the same CL listing email.
