Hello, This is my first post I have ever made so be easy on me. I have a 2013 STI limited sedan that I purchased two mouths ago. I have noticed an oil leak from under the engine that looks like its coming from this part I have no idea what it is. Its on the driver side right next to the exhaust manifold.

Remember that oil is just collecting there...it is possible that it's coming from higher (aka valve covers). I am not the best reference here, but you are away from the oil filter/oil cooler, correct?

 

Yes, the oil filter is on the other side of the exhaust header. I was just told a week ago that part is a oil sending unit or something like that and it has a gasket. I was going to change it. I don't see oil around the valve cover gasket.
