^^ I just gotta ask what you have driven prior to prepare you to even handle 1/2 of your goal (500 WHP?). Otherwise, it's just a dyno bisch, that you occasionally drive it to 30% of it's potential.

well a built block from cosworth is nice, however on their webpage it doesnt say anything about them being sleeved, just honed in house. if that's the case, 1000HP is deadly to that motor. and they go for $16K for the long block ready to drop in.

i'd think for 1000HP you wouldnt be able to use ANY off the shelf pistons/rods/sleeves/bearings etc etc...all would have to be special ordered to handle that much power. a cosworth forged crank however, could probably handle that much power but they are about $3800 alone.

also for the fuel system you'd realistically need to have 8 injectors on each bank, as well as a custom intake manifold.

my opinion...watch the video of the 1200HP evo and u'll see that it's pointless, because even with 1000HP in a subaru, you won't be able to get it down and keep it in a straight line

and like you said, if you wanted a have a car you could rally, then this WOULD NOT be it! zero traction in any gear

hahaha i know, its a crazy idea...but truly it runs in the family XD my dad had an old 89 legacy wagon and someone lugied on it and made oil spitters come out the front and back ends of the car so they would know how it feels to be spit on XDXD by the time i get all this ready to go i will have 3 different Subaru's with 3 different specialties XD a drag race a street race and a rally im absolutely obsessed with Subaru always have always will the only other car i would ever own is a Porsche just because of the boxer engine style

enjoying your suby is all good, but be realistic here, if you don't have the funds to spend easily $60.000+ dollars or the driving skill to handle 1000hp then don't bother.

also no offense, but if you were serious about hitting 1000hp you would be already talking to shops who have made serious power with suby's instead of posting BS threads asking people how to do it. Everyone these day's seem to be looking for the magic formula to make power instead of trying thing's out and seeing what work's best. laziness of the tuning world

its not that i haven't talked to the shops already...i wanted an opinion from the fellow tuners out there. XD more specifically the Subaru tuners maybe everyone is looking for a magic formula to make power but my question is not bs rather it is rather a valid question im not lazy nor is anyone else..what do you do when you don't know how to do certain things? i bet you ask a question.

ok, um, 3 fully built cars? Is this kid 16 and dreamin' or something? I think a 1000HP Subaru will pass $30 with parts and labor and will take over a year to build and get everything working correctly.

Lets clear this up though, 1000 BHP or WHP? And what were the winning lottery numbers?

I think 500 WHP if possible for you will be good. Something that high like 1000 is like... not much fun of a daily driver? That's me though.

Good thing you live in Minnesota then.

Edit:

If you really want to make 1000hp, apparently the best formula is a garage full of crazy russians. (Are they russian? Hell, I don't know. They're definitely crazy.)
