05 or 06 WRX?

05 or 06 WRX?
My friend is looking for a WRX hatchback. I used to think that the 06 and 07 models looked not that great, but they have really grown on me where I'd actually prefer them over the 04-05's.
My quick question is, besides the engine size change (2.0 vs 2.5) bigger wheels and better brakes, is there anything else that gives the 06+ an advantage over the 05's?(performance and reliability wise) Is the transmission, engine, interior components any better (build and function) on the 06's?

06 all the way. 2.5 liter engine instead of 2 liter engine. 17" rims and tires instead of 16" and larger beake disc and better calipers!
