01 ej replaced with 05 ej205 sti

What mods need to be done to drop an 05 ej205 sti in to a 01 bugeye.

If you're from the states, there is no 01 bug eye.. Are you talking about a GC?

If it has a 5 at the end of the numbers representing the liters its a WRX. (EJ205,Ej255). If its a 7 its an STI (EJ257,EJ207)

USDM STIs are only ej257s

And Bug eyes are USDM MY02. Looks like your from AUS? Looking at your avatar pic. Then your MY is a year ahead of USDM. And what your talking about now makes sense. Yes, the 2005 Sti ver8 Ej207 will fit into your 01 WRX. Everything fits right in, only problem is wiring the AVCS.

No. US 02-04 WRX are 2.0L, including the 04 STI. 05 and up are 2.5.
20X = 2.0L
25X = 2.5L
For Japan, while they were competing, the block was always 2.0 to meet rules to use a stock block in Rally.

06+ 255.
