Yes, I am afraid the day of the Subaru being a unique choice of Japanese vehicle is long gone. Homogenization is the wave of their new found future.
The rumor has it, there is an emergency 'fix' under way for the very much under appreciated WRX... let's hope so ~

Car Info: MY04 aspen wrx wagon.
Things are SICK. Has the nicer grill and the spec lip. The nice wheels. Plus the XT drive train with the turbo and more ponies than the wrx.
All you need to do is slap some sway bars on there with some new suspension. Exhaust, turbo, injectors, and a tune and you have a car that handles about as good as a modified wrx wagon, has mad space, head room and neat little compartments...haaa. And more ponies than a stock sti.
They have one at subaru of santa cruz that's been there FOREVER. Only draw back is that it's blue and an auto. I want black or charcoal.
but if you're into an auto they'd damn near give that thing away. It's literally been there like 6 months.
I'd love to get into one. wife wants a tacoma though... and it's her turn. haaa.

Yeah, we had a black auto that after rebates we sold $2k behind invoice. But, hold out for a 5 spd. How about a nice vacation for you and the wife instead of a Tacoma?
