Just changed my stock turbo to an IhI vf30 as well as the complete exhaust from headers back. Car runs well for about 5 minutes then starts to overheat. Any ideas as to what the problem could be? I haven't checked the thermostat yet just because I'm not sure if it's something to do with the install.

 

Did you hook up the coolant lines correctly?

Do you have oil in your coolant?

 

Yes, there's 2 coolant lines coming off the turbo and 1 oil line.
No oil in coolant

 

When it over heats does it boil over? or just get hotter than usual? Do the fans come on? If not it could be the sensor.

 

I actually found the problem. Forgot to fill the tank above the turbo with anti freeze. Thanks for the input
