What's up fellas? I'm new to I-club and just thought I would say what's up. I'm from Cranston, RI as I see a couple of you are also. I glad we are represented. I just purchased my WRX last week. 04' Silver sedan with the wing and 17" Prodrive Pirelli wheel package. I absolutely love this car. Only one small problem so far. I decided to vacuum it out this Saturday and when I pulled out the dirver's floor mat I noticed that there was no gas pedal. WTF? I mean the pedal was missing. When I took it back to the dealer they were scratching their heads but they ordered me one. Just thought I'd share.

That is exactly what the finance manager said when I told him the gas pedal was missing. Other than the gas pedal omission I am in love with this car. The thing I can't believe the most is how all different kinds of people stare at the car and ask questions about it.

Yes just the arm was there. When I originally test drove the WRX I drove an blue 04' Prem. pkg. I wanted a silver WRX with no xtras. They gave me a price of $22,222. Not bad but they didn't have a silver sedan w/o any xtras on the lot. They did have a silver sedan with a wing and the Pirelli Prodrive wheel pkg, but they were asking $27k+ for it. I had to leave that day and told them I would come back in a couple of days. When I went back in, they made me a deal on the Prodrive WRX that I could not refuse ($23,649). I was sold.

I told the salesman that I wanted to test drive it before I left a deposit, and it felt fine. I inspected it on the day I went to pick it up. The only thing I notice was that the pass side mirror cover's paint was starting to crack. (maybe not enough flex in the paint) Anyway they ordered me a new one and said it would take a couple of days to come in.

So a few days later, I'm cleaning my car. I pull out the driver's floor mat and look down at the pedals. There are only two. Just the arm of the gas pedal is there no pedal. So I sat there scratching my head for a minute. Then I proceded to tear the car apart thinking maybe it came off, but no luck.

Naturally I was heated. I headed back to the dealership and proceded to tell my story to the service dept mgr, parts mgr, and sales mgr. When I told the sales mgr he laughed and said "I wonder if that car was built on a Friday". The parts mgr came out to look at it and said that in her 15+ yrs w/ Subaru this was first.

Well the ordered that parts and I had them installed this week. It's nice to finally have a gas pedal. The arm underneath is fairly long so you couldn't feel much of a difference at first. Now that I do have a pedal I wonder how I drove w/o one.
