Mazda rev it up! New York!
Mazda rev it up! New York!
My fiend was an hour late so we got to the stadium at 10am. We only had enough time to do chalk time before hitting the course. The pro index time was 29.669 and I get in to the mazda 3 looking at the electronic switch to move the seat to finaly fine the manual bar at the front of the seat. I lower the seat as low as it will go and moved the seat back. I start it up (3 times I tried to start it) someone shouts it already running. Dam it. LOL I go to move it to manual to see its already there umm od. I start off and move to the start line and the guy says go so I nail it. The car slowly moves off the line crap what the hell I look down and see its in 2nd I reach for the shifter and pull back for it to go into 3rd. CRAP.
I push it forward twice and I am off. I never let of the gas apart from the real tight corners and I come across the finish . 34.885 secs. Umm ok. Lesson learned.
I leave go to the practice course and almost nailed the pro drivers (was .1 sec off of there 14.3)
We cue up for the next run I walk up to the car and see all the scratches around the bumper great it looks like it likes cones. Umm.
I pull to the start line making sure I was in 1st and given the go I nailed it lifting 6 times the whole track nailing the limiter in second in some points. I cross the line 31. seconds and I was histerical till I get out the car look up and see I incured a penalty 33.886 I never heard the cone or anything. My friend walks upto me and says you ran over the edge of the cone on the entry to the chicane. I was gutted. I beat him even with the penalty but I really had a shot at the club area winner. I am gutted..
But still a great day.
