I'm here every so often but usually don't check the New England forum for some reason.....and I rarely see other Subies (2.5's, Rex's, STi's) on the road....when I do, I honk and give a thumbs-up.....and usually get this look like "What'd I do?" CT people suck in general me thinks. And I live here.

CT meet
I'm up north in Somers, My son and I hit the "Pike" sometimes on a Saturday night with our Yellow 92 Honda Civic Si, which is turbo'ed.
There are to many subby's around that are owned by people that don't have a clue about having something special. That is why you may be getting funny looks.
I have a black 00' GT wagon with dark tint's. GT wagon's are not that common either, but it is still not something that most people understand. Also the average age of Subaru owners is most likly over 40. I'm 49 y/o.
I realize how special the 2.5 RS is, I don't care for the WRX. I wish they made it in a coupe.
I don't visit this site that often, I spend my time on a Skiing site or on the turboD16 site or Honda Hookup.
Now that winter is almost here we will be skiing every weekend, even the "Pike" is out until May.
We have only seen a couple of Subby's at the pike, thought there must be more around.
You guy's have a good winter. Hope you can get a meet going.
BTW My GT Wagon was at Limerock for the car show last May.

i live in torrington
There are quite a few wrx and sti running the streets up here. I get mixed responses. I am 30 and i see a wrx with there family inside waving to me and my family and others. I have gotten more positive responses than negative. That is one great thing about owning one there is family/ community to the car which i love. I am defidently down witha ameet of some kind. I attended the marcus dairy meet and that was by far the largest subaru enthusiast meet i have been too. Let me know the day and time. We will figure out what we want to do ie meet and chat and then go for a cruise etc. I know there are alot more i clubbers from ct than this where is everyone? Hope to see you guys soon.

I think it's the, "Don't bother me or I'll..." kinda thing. We've become so self-centric, that we fear invading others' space even by honking, or saying hi, etc. It's a societal thing, and probably more prevelant in CT too.
But, I'm always game for anything Subaru. I just bought a brand new 2004 RS (red with spoiler and fogs) and am loving every minute I'm in it. I make up reasons to take a long drive: "Oh, I need to go to the grocery, but the one down the street isn't the best one." I've put on 2000 miles in less than a month! Half of them though were driving around like grandma during my engine breakin.
Oh, and btw, there is one stretch of road between Hamden and Bethany, on route 42 that is sooo much fun to tear down at night. You can't get the top end up too high, but it's a winding rally-like road, where shifting is frequent, and acceleration is best in 2nd and 3rd gears.
I'm always free on the weekends. Give me a honk.

I'm from brooklyn but I have family in Guilford and Madison CT, so I'm up there about once a month. Was up over the weekend and spotted 3 RS's. 2 of them were in the Parking lot of the Saybrook Walmart. A WRB 99 coupe and Silverthorn 00 sedan, both of them very stock. Later the same day spotted a WRB 98 RS, also very stock, in the lot at Clinton Crossings Outlets. Never seen so many on one day.
P.S. My Dealer is Premier Subaru in Branford. Without a doubt the best in every way.
