Subaru Challenge in Kansas City

The Kansas City Region SCCA will be hosting the first Subaru Challenge event in Kansas City on Sunday, July 11th. Welcoming party and registration in on Saturday, July 10th. Late registration and tech available at event site at 8:00 AM on Sunday.

If you're not familiar with the Kansas City Region events - you should be. Our lot size is rivaled only by Forbes Field, though ours is bowl shaped and has elevation changes. Our courses tend to be large, flowing and fast.

This is a great opportunity to autox your Subaru with other Subaru enthusiasts, get catered food, beer, a t-shirt and and autox that you'll remember for a long time.

If you an experienced autox'er and have tech, T&S or are an SSS, then please contact me.

Thanks,

- Steve Sulatycki

Well I have to say a good time was had by all

It was a very good event, well organized and all drivers got to do quite a few runs. It was nice to see so many Subarus in one place.

OK, the easy part is over for me taking the pics.

I took a ton and really don't want to edit each and every one so what I've decided to try is this. I've looked through all my pics and got rid of the truly crappy ones. Unfortunately for me, there weren't a whole lot of crappy ones. The good news is everyone will have a lot to choose from. The only thing I've done with the pics is distorted the tag if you can see it and add my sig to the bottom of the pic. I DID NOT, crop or otherwise work any pic. I left them for the most part in the raw state and made a gallery here:

Heat 1:

http://www.peatpics.com/web_gallery/sub_chlng/heat_one/

Heat 2:

http://www.peatpics.com/web_gallery/...o_subchal.html

The gallery is just a small pic but you can at least get the idea if it's worth editing. Give the above page some time to load because there are a lot of thumbnails to load for this heat. The raw photo is very large (3008 X 2000) so it can be cropped and still look OK.

I tried a few new things this time. I went for a very clear, stop action shot and also a slow shutter speed-blur/pan type deal. Rather than me deciding if I should delete a pic I thought I'd just put up all of them and let you decide It's not that I'm really lazy but what I might think is not so good might look OK to you because it's your car.

Before I edit any pic I want to know which ones are wanted. I'm trying to figure out the best way to do this so bear with me. I need to know which pics you are interested in by the file name, and what you intend to do with it. If you want it for the web only I will limit the file and DPI size, if you want to print it I can crop it to the photo size you plan on printing. I haven't decided if I want to take requests for prints and arrange for photos to be printed up. If enough people are interested I can. I didn't plan on charging, but if you want to donate something I'd be happy to accept

I'll work on the other photo's ASAP and post the links.

e-mail me direct at cheeze@sunflower.com and include Subaru Challenge in the subject.

Please give me feedback and let me know if this works out OK.
