Funny you should ask....
besided route 66 there soon will be a be a new track opening next spring. ti will be about 3.6 mikes long complete with a few drag strips. It will offer an yearly membership as well as a part that will be open to the public. I have read the plans and seen a draw up for the track and I will say it will be very very nice.

Yeah, its the same idea as golf clubs. for a price they are open to anyone but members get all the perks and VIP treatment over those not in the club.

It's called Autobahn Country Club, and will be located just west of RT 66 and the speedway out there. Cost for a race membership is $10,000, plus $3,000 dollars annual dues. If you go to the track 15 times a or more a year its really not that bad of a price when you crunch the numbers, lets say over a five year membership.
The track can be broken down into two smaller road courses, one course will always be for available for club members while the other can be rented out by clubs and the public.
When they get enough members they are suppose to start breaking ground. Supposably this summer. The first phase will get the track and paddocks finished and the second phase will get the clubhouse pool and ammenities finished.
If you are into tracking your car its a cool concept.

BTW
BTW some other road tracks in the area:
Gingerman - Michigan
Grattan - Michigan
Blackhawk Farms - Near Rockford
Road America - Elkhart Lake WI
Putnam - Indiana
Waterford Hills - Michigan
Some of these have open test & tune times for around $50.00. The best way to get experience and track time is by joining local clubs that rent out track time and/or hold driving schools throughout the year for a reasonable price. If you are interested I can give you the name of a few clubs in the area who do so.

Yep that’s the one. My Dad and I threw in for the founding membership. Hope it takes off, sounds like a solid investment.

How much do you know about it? My brother and I are looking in to reserving race memberships. We have some concerns as to how much track time members are going to actually get each day or week. As well are the members liable in case the place goes belly up? We have been talking with Mark Basso but any info would be greatly appreciated.

From the info I have heard members will have exclusive use to one side of the track at all times, (except for special occasions i.e. races and whatnot). As for if the place goes belly up you will nod be held for anything than you annual dues for that year, so at the most 3k. On a side not I will say that from what I have seen and heard about this it’s a pretty safe bet. I would not worry about it going under. Next week they are talking me out to see the plot the bought. If you have any additional questions let me know and I can ask for you in person.
