Hey, I love Peoria!
I lived there for many years, and I'm dying to move back.
Great restaurants, shopping, coffee shops, clubs, scenery, roads for driving, and a small but rabid car scene (my best friends are hardcore VW guys, and love to go road racing- I'll give you their email, if you want.)
I also remember seeing Viper GTS, Lamborghini Diablos, Porsche
911 Turbos, Ferraris, Bentleys, Rolls Royces, and all kinds of exotic cars running around in the summer. Hang around Kauth & Mayeur on Main Street, or Peoria Heights, and you're likely to
see several awesome cars.
Try living in Waterloo, Iowa, for God sakes! ARRRGHHHH!
I've been here 3 years now, and the most exotic car I've seen in town is........well, mine! And 3 WRX's.
And yes, even with a weeks worth of hard rain, there would still be 1" of standing salt, sand, and cinders on our roads here.
It's ridiculous- the IDOT (or is that IDIOT ?) has to use their
annual allowance of road "treatment materials", or they
won't get the same amount next year. Ugh.
It's taken 3 days of carwash (underside, engine compartment, body) and detailing the interior and wheels, just to get the car recovered from the winter.
Now, it's warm this weekend, the car is detailed, and I want to go cruising! Anyone in Iowa?
