I was an exibitor at the DC auto show and today ( Sunday ) I struck up a conversation with a SOA employee who is in the Finance Dept. Our conversation started out with the normal,.." so when's the STI coming ? "end of may early june, after the Dealer meeting and "ride and drive" ( Subaru's way of allowing all the dealers to drive the product before it's released to the public)
F.Y.I. the WRX launch 2 years ago was in Phoenix , I was working for Subaru then and my Girlfriend went to Phoenix and said it was a blast. The dealer meeting is where they (Subaru) give all the brochures and allocations to the dealers and may have 1 car there.`ANYWAY,..she goes on to say that SOA is so secretive about the launch that the girls that are on the turning stage with the STI are only being given the information the morning of the press day for the DETROIT AUTO SHOW !!

NEEDLESS TO SAY,..I will be driving 12 hrs to detroit next weekend,..January 11-12, 2003.

So you may say,.."yeahhhhhhhh righttttttttt,...."

Which is what I said to myself as I stood there,...but she came back with a good one,.."Subaru's reason for Detroit is,...it's the
" North American Auto Show"

Mitsubishi is releasing the Evo in L.A. January 3,..press day.
