Spring Instalation
Spring Instalation
I live in Fairfax Va and i'm lookin for a good shop that could install a set of eibach springs for me. The cheapest i've found is $175 at quality tire. Just wanted to kno if any of you have any suggestions on who else i could try. And don't suggest Nu-Image cause they F**KIN rip you off. I hate that place and anyone who is thinking about going there DON"T. There awfull. I had a friend get an exaust on there and the copied his key and a week later stole his system. Not a good place to go to. But any other suggestions would be appreciated.
thnx,
Andy

If you still dont want to do it your self you should talk to either WRXProtential or DriftFreak, they both work at Stolmans in Tysons and probally will do it for you on the side. Oh and you can probally find them on NASIOC eazier.

I've installed springs on a few Bronco's, a mustang and a jeep. Its not difficult, just make sure you get good quality spring compressors or it will be a giant headache. How low you dropping your car?
Well as for police involvement with Nu-Image he did file a report yet they had no evidence and it is afterall speculation. Just very odd that they got into his car without having to break any windows and no evidence of a slim-jim or anything being used cause there were no scrathes inside or out. So ya it could have been random but i doubt it. I have heard people complain a lot about Nu-Image before and honestly i'm surprised anyone still goes there.
As for installing the springs myself i am a little worried. I have worked on cars very little before and defiantly haven't done anything with suspension. I have access to a spring compresor at my school auto-tech room but i don't know how good it is. Plus I certinly don't wanna mess anything up since i dono what i'm doing. I am gettin the Eibach Pro-Kit and it should drop it about 1.5 up front 1.3 in the back.

If you are in a bind and don't have a spring compressor you can use the car's weight to release the compression on the springs. With the car resting fully on the ground remove the center nuts from the strut tops and slowly jack up the car allowing the tension on the springs to release. I would buy/borrow a spring compressor though. I bought mine a few years ago for around $40 and felt stupid at the time because I thought that I would only be using it once. Well, I've used it at least 5 times and will probably use it again when I do my WRX.

Ya i would definatly consider doing that, Alex. I won't have the springs till around mid April. Plus I lost my license anyway and can't drive for a little while. Where exactly are u?
