CA member needs local Collections agent in MD

Fellow I-clubbers , I need to ask you a favor....
Would anyone be willing to look in the MD phone books and jot down some phone numbers for a collections agent or two?
I don't seem to be finding too many on the web and am turning to you , the fine members of I-club.
I would do the same for any of you who sold something to someone in my neck of the woods and didn't get paid for it
Basicaly I posted some new wing risers on the classifieds and was emailed from a purchaser in MD. He promised me a check , I promised him a shipping number , he got his and I got mine in the bootay.
I am looking for someone who will take on a small case ($100 product value) as long as the fee isn't more than the loss amount .
At this point recompense is no question , I just want an agent to bug the guy and screw up his credit report if he doesn't pay up so as to prevent him from wanting to do this to others.

I know I am being vague with the details but I am still giving him one more chance to reply via certified letter after which i proceed with collections, but I want someone to contact in collections because I feel I know the outcome already.
Thanks in advance for the help
JV

This is simple!

I just need one of you to flip through a phone book and give me two or three phone numbers.
It would be greatly appreciated.
If you are all wondering:
on 2/3/04
I was contacted by one
Jia Chen
6919 newberry Drive
Columbia MD 21044
(433) 538-5185
about a pair of CF wing risers I had for sale . We concluded our transaction so to speak with my going to UPS and he telling me a check was to be mailed that afternoon.(Ihave heard all the "check's in the mail " jokes but let em rip if you want!)
He called me repeatedly that afternoon to find out what the tracking number was. I went out of my way to get it for him and call him back with it.
One , two weeks go by and I know what happened .I get him on the phone once and he tells me he sent it plus he has the ***** to say one of them was scratched , I suggest a stop payment and a new check.
Two more weeks and he will not return my phone calls.
He will not reply to certified return receipt mail and I am now ready to Folker up his credit report.
If any of you can help with my original request , that would be great.
If any of you know this character , let him know I will pursue this for fun now and he will not be happy with the results. I could care less about the money I lost now or what I will pay a colector to file his name with the credit bureau , people like this are not good karma to our little society.

Finaly got him on the phone
He promises me another check once he makes sure his original check hasn't cleared.
I will give the benefit of the doubt one more time.

PS , much thanks to wrxlax39
I have a feeling my east coast pals are changing his mind , at least he answers the phone now!

Why would you send a stranger an item and take there word for it? Dont want to sound like an @$$hole. Hopefully everything works out. Good Luck.

Have you ever though about doing a money transfer like thru Western Union?

This problem is being taken care of and the person in question has commited to resolve the issue.I attribute my success to all of you who gave me advice and PMed me with pertinant info etc.
We have a great community here , I love my Bay area brothers and sisters and have added a special place for all of you on this forum board as.
Greddy5 , you do not sound like an a** hole , what you said is what I said five minutes after I left the UPS store!
Now I have no ill will towards this person and I hope it was all a misunderstanding which we will all get something out of. We live and learn , I am just glad I got this resolved and I appreciate all of you who gave me a hand, if there is anything a west coast member can do for any of you just come over to our little slice of heaven and ask!

I will allow time for him to respond to PM , then phone then we start again.
He must think I'll just forget!
Now's the time to speak up there , scoobyman07 , I realy want to be amicable about this.

OK

Two weeks have passed.Once again the phone doesn't get answered.T-Mobile says his voice mail system is not accepting messages even when I had them try, and I'll have one more certified letter going out(I just need to do that for legalities) so...
Anyone who knows this guy or sees him feel free to tell him that my patience has run out.
I have two months of phone records , returned /unaccepted certified mail , shipping receipts and my entire bank records available showing no deposits or cashed checks on my part made out by this individual. He will learn to not screw people his own age , much less some old fart who could care less about a $100 but puts great emphasis on principle.
These items will be made available to a local collections agent whom I will pay with no problem whatsoever, most likely for the amount of my loss with no hope of recovery of my loss.
Now many of you may ask , and Mr. Chen included , why would a person do such a thing and just not accept being burned for $100, after all it is almost a given that the amount will never be paid?
When young Mr. Chen one day grows up and maybe goes out to get a home loan or maybe another fine vehicle he will notice a distinct blemish on his credit report , at which time he will have to take care of buisiness. This is the first step a collector takes in accepting a case and I will make sure I emphasise that it be the most important thing that agency does for my fee. I do not need my money now , but I will prove my point to him.
Think about it , a $100 scam that is going to haunt him.
I would feel bad had I not given him so many chances.

For all who sell online: Money first then ship later! Use paypal if you can also so you know that funds are guaranteed.
The money first lesson was learned,
As for not being worth the trouble , well you would be amazed at what credibility documentation has. My world is dictated by documentation and now his will be too. Please do not think I would just call an agency without first having my ducks in a row.
Remember , I now do not care about my "lost" money , even the money I am about to spend , bad credit is a dish best served cold.
