Are they still searching vehicles that want access to the base without DOD sitckers and Military IDs? Or have they calmed down with that?

You can't even get into our building without a tag and an ID. I drive past the same guard every day and get checked no matter what time, day, uniform etc... Security is a biatch around here.

That's good though...

I remember the post 9-11 madness when they searched EVERY car for a good month. It wasn't uncommon to have 50% accountability in the barracks because all those that lived off post were stuck in traffic for hours. Can still remember the 1SG *****ing everyday until he finally told everyone off post to don't bother coming in. Brass finally put a stop to that though...

It did keep the drunk driving casualties and incidents on post down significantly. Kept people from getting liquored-up off post and driving back. To be honest I think they should do random searches for every 20 cars still just for that reason.

My point is if you do have this meet make sure you leave your unmentionable items at home instead of under the seat or in glovebox of your car.

Back on topic....

I thought that if your sponsor used to be an Admiral with the rank O-10 then their dependents ID's never expire?
