I am officially "tentative" for riding next week. I may not have my bike back
REI was able to get the bottom bracket out and have ordered me replacement parts - new BB and crank. Instead of the Truvativ stuff, however, they got me Shimano LX  They said it might be a week before the part comes in though so I may be road bikin it.

The extended forecast shows a high of 50F and low of 39F for Auburn, CA. 40F at 9AM and 49F at noon. I'm going to suggest riding sometime after 9AM.

FDLT?
Cool?
Did my fav. loop (Clementine, Culvert, Continental) on Saturday morning. 9:08 start and 10:15 finish! Best completion time ever. I think last time it took me 1:45min (mainly the climbing so slow). Did the climb in about 45min this time and then DH in about 22min. (and that was being careful on the DH due to wetness). Trail was a bit damp to say the least. Tried to avoid as much mud as possible. The rocks on Continental Divide were a bit slippery but I was able to control the bike for the most part. Rode the clip-ins for the 1st time on Santa Cruz (it was good I rode them on the hardtail back to back weekends). Was running about 40psi in the rear and 30 to 35 up front. Felt the rear spin once during a muddy climbing section, but it was only for a split second and then it hooked-up. Ohhh and the DH almost froze my toes off!

I was reading about Salmon Falls, with Sweetwater/Falconcrest thrown in that you can get about 25miles out of it...that's a long time in the saddle (for me) but it looked pretty fun from the web site photos... http://ogrehut.com/trails.php/Sierra-Central/Sweetwater

I wouldn't mind hitting it again, but it would have to be on a weekday
As for Cool, I really like the trail. It's a fun 9-10 mile loop with a little bit of everything.

I think you'll be okay on the speed deal. The shock works but it's just no longer adjustable. I'm pretty sure it's an oil/spring combo, but just old.
Need to spend some cash on it...maybe Ebay or something...
