Russ (and anyone else that might someday go to Maita sales), Billy Cummings no longer works at Maita. I called Maita a few minutes ago to set up an appointment with Billy and they gave me the news.

Mike, how do you rate the salesperson at Roseville dealership you did business with? If it was a good experience, can you give me a name? I just want to see if a new car is do-able, or not...

Alan,

I dealt with Bruce. I don't have his card on me so I can't tell you his last name. Older guy who was very easy to deal with. Low pressure. Ask for him and tell him I sent you. You could also deal with Jim the internet sales guy. That's who Matt talked to.

WW, are you trading up now too? There's a rather large gentleman by the name of Scott that works there and he's a total *****. they tried to bring him in as a closer when I was buying my car. He's the main reason I walked out halfway through the process.

I'm just weighing my options. I called my insurance guy this afternoon and his quote wasn't too bad. I'm not chomping at the bit to upgrade but I wouldn't mind taking advantage of the 63-month at 1.9% financing that's being offered to me as a previous subie buyer. By my quick calculations my payment might be the same as what I pay now, or slightly less. I think I could make out okay on the trade-in deal (maybe).

Thanks for the heads-up on Maita's closer. I will walk if they treat me poorly or if they treat me like I'm stupid. I've done it before when the manager at the now-defunct South City Honda told me I was "wasting his time" if he ran a credit check and I wasn't willing to drive out with the car that day. I got up from my seat in his office and told my brother, "let's go." They called me back before I even got home because the fudgers ran my credit without my permission after I left the premises - they were begging me to come back. I never returned the call.
