Ever since I have been out to the Truxle meet I have wanted to host a meet in Roseville but I didn't want to step on toes. I am glad someone else brought it up. I don't have a problem with the location of the Saturday meet per say, however, it is hard for me to break up the weekend when I work so much. The weekend is viewed by the significant other as time to spend together and whatnot as we are both off of work. Well, as I only get a chance to come out to the Saturday meets every once in a while I would like to host a weekday evening meet (and since I live in roseville I think it would be convenient). I often leave for the weekend but as I work from Mon-Friday I am assured to be in Roseville so I could come every week!
I was thinking we could host the meet at Fairway and Pleasant Grove (right off of 80 and really easy to get to) which has the following in the center:
-In and Out burger
-Pei Wei Asian Cuisine
-Pasta Pomadoro (inexpensive but really tastey Italian)
-Krispy Creme Donuts
-Daphne’s Greek Diner (good stuff)
-Chevron Gas! (actually across the street)
All of those places to eat are actually in the Parking lot of the center I think we should meet at but there are many of other food choices just a few blocks away. In and Out is the staple of import ricer cars anyway (lol). There are a lot of other places that we could use if people are interested. Best of all I guess is the fact that Golfland SunSplash is like three blocks from my proposed meeting place!
So, in conclusion, I think we should host a midweek meet in the Roseville Area. I would say that Monday/Tuesday Evenings or Thursday Evenings around 7PM would be good (Wednesday has good TV). I don't think we need to try to "END" the Saturday meet but I think it would be cool to have an alternative meet during the week. Heck, I would suggest you attend both (if you have time). If people are interested then maybe Schafer and I could set something up.

Obviously there should be no end to the weekly meet. We tried moving the Saturday meets to a weeknight before but no one would show up. The meets aren't nearly as fun on the weekdays because you can't or don't really want to hang out till 1 or 2 in the morning when you have to be up for work the next day.
I don't have time to come to weekday meets anyway due to my work schedule and where I work, plus school is starting up again soon so I'll keep going to the Saturday meets exclusively.

Exactly. I don't even get off work until 7, and the last thing I want to do is trek across town in the wrong direction, and even then have another long drive home.
I know you're trying to figure out something that will work with your schedule, but be prepared for low attendance, as we've tried it before.....
I agree with what you are both saying however some of us work from 8am-5pm and some of us are done with school and have girlfriends/wifes that won't let us stay out until 2am on a Saturday anyway lol. I am not suggesting those of you who live very far away attend a "Roseville Weekly meet" however for those of us who work/live in the Roseville area, and find it difficult to give up a weekend day (and easy to spend some time out on the weekday) I think this type of meet would be great (and I know there are at least two of us ha ha). As far as timing, well we may have to play with it to accomidate those who work "odd" hours.
All I know is that when I was living in Orange County for a bit we held a very succesful Monday night meet (TGIM @ TGI Fridays). Sure people only stay till about 11pm or so and that is all I would expect for a weeday meet anyway.

I just wanted to encourage you guys to at least try it out at least once. If it doesn't work out, its not like you have to make it a regular thing. Just try one meet for now, and if all goes well, try another. The Bay Area has tons of meets, its not like Sacramento can't have a few itself. Good luck.

I work in roseville and might consider attending. But Thursday is the one night I already do something every week. How about hump day or Monday part II?

What do you guys think? Tuesday nights? (that means I have to go home, work out, and then go to the meet but I am down).
