Yarp, thought so. 3k miles, didn't drink a drop of oil. Got lazy and hadn't checked it in a bit - without smoking or leaking, went through more than 3 quarts in 1k miles. Oil light flickered, I went "****", filled it, rod knock that went critical and stalled as I pulled it off the highway in Santa Cruz over the weekend. Even if I hadn't run it low, that kind of consumption is a much, much larger issue, so it would have had to come out anyways. Oh well!
4 owner car, motor was rebuilt once by a shop in Auburn to unknown specs a few owners ago, so now it's time to build it the way I want it. C'est la vie
